Camille Chemardin: Blending Emotion and Innovation in Fragrance

Explore Camille Chemardin's fragrances—where emotion meets innovation in scent.

Camille Chemardin is a rising star in the world of perfumery, known for her ability to infuse classic accords with a modern, personal touch. Born on April 12, 1997, in Lyon, France, her fascination with scents began early, inspired by fragrances like L'Eau des Merveilles by Hermès and her grandfather's Habit Rouge by Guerlain. A visit to the Fragonard perfume museum in Grasse at the age of 10 solidified her desire to become a perfumer.

After completing her studies at the École Supérieure du Parfum in Paris, Chemardin joined the independent olfactory creation studio Flair as an intern at the age of 20. Under the mentorship of founders Amélie Bourgeois and Anne-Sophie Behaghel, she honed her craft and quickly became a Junior Perfumer.

Chemardin's creations are characterized by a blend of tradition and innovation. She has a particular affinity for tuberose and Virginia cedar, often combining them with fresh, sparkling notes like ginger and juniper berries. Her approach to perfumery is experimental, aiming to capture emotions in a bottle.

Among her notable works are several fragrances for Versatile Paris, including:

Dimanche Flemme: A comforting, fresh, and sparkling scent designed for lazy Sundays.

Accrodisiaque: An addictive and aphrodisiac fragrance that plays with desire.

Rital Date: A gender-neutral, gustatory scent that captures the essence of Italy.

Chemardin has also collaborated with other niche brands, creating fragrances such as:

  • Cocktail Appalaches for L'Orchestre Parfum: A woody and gourmand fragrance inspired by Appalachian folk ballads, featuring notes of cedar, Amaretto, roasted sesame, and vanilla tobacco.

  • Ithaka for Mendittorosa: Part of the Versi Collection, this fragrance explores the relationship between poetry and perfumery, with a scent profile that includes bergamot, aqueous magnolia, incense, patchouli, and Virginian cedar.
